EDL Consulting Website

Challenge:
EDL Consulting asked Biersma Creative, one of EDL’s Alliance partners, to strategize, design and develop a new website for the firm, one of the most innovative and fastest-growing IT consultancy firms in the country.  As an IT consultant to many Fortune 500 firms, EDL Consulting makes organizations more efficient, nimble and successful by delivering solutions to the complex systems integration issues behind state-of-the-art technology.

Moreover, the site would be built using Force.com and Force.com Sites, development and site tools EDL routinely recommends to its own clientele.

Solution:
The solution touched on several areas of Biersma expertise where we brought TDP to bear:

Force.com Sites Implementation: To both demonstrate EDL’s capabilities and to leverage the advantages of the technologies EDL recommends, we and EDL chose to launch their new site using the Force.com Cloud-based computing platform, including its Force.com Site sitebuilding tools.

EDL employs these Cloud-based tools to help its clients, many of them Fortune 500 companies, develop Web sites, applications and more.   “We chose to deploy our site using Force.com in order to realize the same advantages from Force that we advocate to our clients,” explained Bill Loumpouridis, president and CEO of EDL.  “Ease of implementation, customization, infinite and on-demand scalability, and best-in-class CRM capabilities are just a few of the advantages provided by Force.com.”

Biersma Creative’s extensive familiarity with Force allowed ease of development and simple, seamless integration into EDL’s own CMS and CRM efforts, among many other benefits.

Strategy: Before a single element was designed or written, we conducted a thorough Digital Audit to assess best (and worst) user experience practices in EDL’s competitive category and beyond, as well as the technology and branding assets utilized by those firms.

A key finding was that many IT consultancy sites are impenetrably complex and layered, making it difficult for users to quickly find the answers they’re after.

Site Design: Since EDL, like its competitors, touches on many facets of IT and business operations, we designed the site to allow multiple, clearly-delineated paths to specific solutions, so any user would be able to quickly locate the information pertinent to their particular situation.

Brand Design & Marketing: The site design is its own form of Branding: EDL’s site is crisp, clear, linear and easy to engage with, characteristic of EDL’s mission and capabilities. This speaks to EDL’s ability to “simplify complexity” by demonstrating it in real practice.  Its incorporation of Force.com CMS, newsfeeds and other tools spoke to EDL’s capacity to deliver a full-featured, business-building Web site built on the platform.

What was their RODIâ„¢?
The new site has been a quantum improvement over the prior Web site, and had already generated positive buzz and leads – for both EDL and Biersma Creative – within just days of its launch.
