President and Founder
Mike was born in a small town in Iowa and graduated with a degree in Music Education from Simpson College where he studied saxophone and piano. After moving to Chicago in 1994, Mike held various sales and sales management positions for a variety of companies in a number of industries, gaining valuable business experience which he would later use in consulting with clients.
From a brief stint working for a small web design firm, Mike founded Chicago Internet in 1997 and got to work creating hundreds of web and print projects for companies all over the country.
Over the years, Mike has grown the company – adding new, talented people and new capabilities. In 2004, Mike decided it was time to change the company’s name to Biersma Creative to better reflect our evolution into a comprehensive design and communications firm.
Since the company’s inception, Mike has been honored as a keynote speaker at a number of events, including national user-group meetings for software companies. He also conducted marketing and branding roundtable sessions at several national conferences. As a speaker at these events, Mike is able to give audiences the benefit of his vast industry expertise and marketing and sales experience – something he also offers to each one of his clients.
Mike’s truly enjoys re-branding a client’s corporate image, taking great satisfaction in helping clients transform their businesses with new, strategic brand identities that make an impact.Â
